Wilderness Engineers

Tecumseh Council has a great group of Scouters - The Wilderness Engineers - who use their talents, interests and equipment to help ensure that Camp Birch is kept in the best possible condition. The Camp Birch Wilderness Engineers meet the first Saturday of the month year around to work on all types of projects throughout camp. The buildings, grounds and equipment of Camp Hugh Taylor Birch are essential program tools. Proper and consistent maintenance is important to the success of programs and services to our Scouts and Scouters. Well kept facilities and equipment assist in building good camp morale and developing respect for the property. Enlisting cooperation from staff, campers and adult volunteers is easier with a well-maintained property. The community, leaders, parents and neighbors are impressed by attractive facilities. Most importantly, camp program is improved when equipment and facilities are available and in proper condition. We have plenty of room for more adult volunteers to be a part of the Wilderness Engineers. Whatever you can do to help will be greatly appreciated. You don’t need to be a skilled tradesman to join, everyone is welcome. You can come as often or as little as you like, there is no time commitment.

Wilderness Engineers meet at the Camp Birch Maintenance Shop at 9 am on the Saturdays below.
