Camp Birch Scotch Doubles Bowling Tournament
The Camp Birch Scotch Doubles Bowling Tournament benefitting Camp Hugh Taylor Birch is December 11, 2026 with check in at 5:30 pm and practice at 6:15 pm at Southwest Bowling Center (826 Scioto St, Urbana, OH 43078). It is a Scotch Doubles 9 Pin No Tap 3 Games Total Score Tournament. $60 entry per team ($13 lineage to bowling alley, $24 to Camp Birch, and $23 to tournament prize fund). Online registration ends December 8. Registration at the door is available (cash or card). 50% of all jackpots to bowlers & 50% to Camp Birch! We will also have side action (cash only) and silent auction and raffle tickets (cash or card)!

College of Commissioner Science
Tecumseh Council is proud to present our College of Commissioners Science on January 9, 2027 at Hawker Church (1617 N Longview St, Beavercreek, OH 45432) from 8 am to 3:30 pm. Cost for Tecumseh Council Adult (with current paid registration in Tecumseh Council) is FREE and Out-of-Council Adult (or guest without registration in Tecumseh Council) is $10 if registered online by December 18, 2026. All registrations after December 18, 2026 have a $10 late fee. The last day to register online is January 3, 2027.
College of Commissioner Science – The purpose of the College of Commissioner Science (CoCS) is to provide supplemental training for all functions of commissioner service. It is recognized that commissioners are key to the continued health and growth of the units in the council. This training offers instruction, guidance and detailed training to aid the commissioners in providing outstanding unit service.
Sycamore District Merit Badge Trail Drive
Sycamore District Merit Badge Trail Drive will be held at Fairborn Middle School—the same location as last year—on February 6, February 20, and March 6, 2027, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Online registration is now open. Registration is free for Tecumseh Council Scouts and $10 for out-of-council Scouts who register by January 15, 2027. After January 15, the cost is $10 for Tecumseh Council Scouts and $20 for out-of-council Scouts. Registration closes January 29, 2027.
Horsemanship Merit Badge
Horsemanship Merit Badge for Scouts BSA is Saturday, November 14 from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm at Marmon Valley Farm (7754 State Route 292 S, Zanesfield OH 43360). Cost is $75 per Scout. Additional trail rides are available for $36. Register online by October 12. Scouts should pack a lunch. Wear long jeans or pants, sturdy closed-toe shoes & weather appropriate clothing. A parent must attend with Scout to sign a waiver.

Scouts BSA Fall Camporee
Scouts BSA Troops – Join us at Camp Birch for our Scouts BSA Fall Camporee “Back to Basics” on November 6-8, 2026 at Camp Birch! Check in is Friday from 6 to 8 pm and check out is Sunday by 10 am.
Patrols will compete in a “Back to Basics” camping competition that will include activities such as: Patrol Breakfast Cooking Challenge; Campsite Inspection; Pioneering; Service Project; & Leave No Trace.
Cost if registered online by October 25: Tecumseh Council Scout = FREE; Tecumseh Council Adult = FREE; Out-of-Council Scout = $15; Out-of-Council Adult = $10. There is a $10 for ALL registrations after October 25. The last day to register is November 4.
Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)
IOLS will be offered Friday, November 6 with check in at 5:30 pm and program start at 6 pm to Saturday, November 7 at 5 pm at the Camp Birch Training Lodge (in conjunction with the Fall Camporee). Cost is FREE for adults WITH a current paid registration in Tecumseh Council, cost is $40 for adults WITHOUT a current paid registration in Tecumseh Council (or out-of-council). WHAT IS IOLS? Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) is training that provides Scouts BSA leaders with basic skills and information to run a successful outdoor program.
Wine Tasting benefiting Tecumseh Council
Hauck Bros. Heating & Cooling presents Wine Tasting benefiting Tecumseh Council, Scouting America on Saturday, November 21, 2026 from 6 to 9 pm at The State Theater (19 S Fountain Ave, Springfield, OH 45502). The cost is $45 per person. Ticket includes 6 wine tastings and heavy hors d’oeuvres including Mom Andrasik’s Hungarian Cabbage Rolls and Charcuterie Table. There will be a Wine Pull & Silent Auction. Register online by November 14.

Restore and Explore
November 7, 2026 is Restore & Explore at Camp Birch. Packs, Troops and Crews can enjoy a free weekend of camping at Camp Birch and work on projects to improve camp.
Check in for weekend camping is Friday, November 6 from 5 to 8 pm. There will be a short leader’s meeting on Saturday, November 7 at 8:30 am. Service projects will run from 9 am to 12 pm on Saturday, November 7.
Restore & Explore will be conducted in conjunction with the Scouts BSA Fall Camporee (for Troops & Crews ONLY). If your Troop or Crew will be participating in the Fall Camporee, please register your unit online for the Fall Camporee. You do NOT need to register separately for Restore & Explore. Your Fall Camporee registration will include a Restore & Explore service project.
REGISTRATION (for units not participating in Fall Camporee including ALL PACKS): Please contact Tara Corns at tara.corns@scouting.org to register for Restore & Explore. Please include your unit number, an estimated number of youth and adult participants, and a contact name, email and phone number for your unit. Please register early as space will be limited.
CAMPSITES: Campsites will be assigned for Restore & Explore participants with separate camping areas for Packs and Troops/Crews.

Range & Target Activities Saturdays
NEW…ONLINE REGISTRATION NOW REQUIRED! The next CHTB Range & Target Activities Saturday organized by the Tecumseh Council Range & Target Activities Committee is May 22, 2027 and is open to Scouts BSA Troops, Venture Crews and Adults. All ranges have Merit Badge Counselors if Scouts wish to “complete” range work from summer camp, but they have to bring the incomplete blue card with them to camp. Range Wrist Band is $5 per shooter per session and includes access to all three Ranges. Ammo is an additional cost.
2027 World Scout Jamboree
The World Scout Jamboree is held every four years around the world. The next Jamboree will be held in Gdansk, Poland in the summer of 2027 (July 30 to August 8, 2027) and will have approximately 45,000 Scouts and leaders from over 140 countries in attendance. Participants must be between age 14-17 at the start of the Jamboree on July 30, 2027. Anyone older than that can apply to be a unit leader or on staff. Anyone younger than that will have to wait for the 2031 Jamboree in Denmark.
